Vet #8 (09.05) Canon DSLR
Statement: This vet had his family with him. They started joking with me. And I joked back. But, here is the thing. Do you remember before Vietnam you could joke with your buddy's family in that innocent way? It was like going back in time. It was nice. And, I left my larger lens in its case on the floor. Someone, maybe his mother, said did I forget something. Without making eye contact, almost looking down at the floor, I said, "Yes. That is a very expensive lens. Thank you very much." And she laughed, and I think others did too, but it was in fun, without an ounce of malice. Strange and wonderful.
