"Greg's" was commissioned by my very good friend, Greg Helle. Greg was raped in Vietnam, and he had to kill (known kills) two enemy soldiers. He asked me to create a work representing these traumas. Greg has a book A Walk In Hell (fantastic poetry, etc.) and a web site by the same name, A Walk In Hell. If you cannot comprehend how a man could be raped, you are not alone. But, the fact is it can and does happen. 1 in 9 boys are molested and/or raped before they are 18 y/o. But, most boys and men don't talk about it because of the stigma. Killing the perpretrator or rapist does not solve the problem. Rape is an act of violence, a differential of power, an abuse of power whether the victim is male or female. It is almost condoned by society. Therein lies the problem. This is not about to change. Healing can and does occur. Most healing occurs by talking about it with professionals, friends, and others. The "secret" kills.
